“ This place is very good. Definitely a hole in the wall. Limited tables so can be a wait if you come during busy hours. I say there is probably 5-6 tables. Their big pot of chicken was amazing. Super spicy and numbing flavor. Highly recommend. Cash only! ”
“ this was my first time ever hearing about this pork pancake dish but omg i wish i heard about it sooner bc it was so good!! the breading was crispy on the bottom and the pork was savory and juicy, but a little bit on the salty side. there was also some cilantro in there which added freshness. the flavor and texture combination was just amazing. some of the bread soaked the juices but the bottom was still perfectly crispy~ it was great for a small snack! i would come back service was kind of subpar though.. and the inside was your typical Chinese restaurant interior (a bit on the small side too) ”
“ I got the soup dumplings and they were so delicious! The atmosphere is crowded but feels very authentic Chinese. I will come back. ”
“ This place has been on my list for quite some time. After 8 hours of pickle we decided to give this a try. This place is cash only and no frills. There was a short line and it moved quick. Soup dumplings 4 out of 5. Small but delicious and generous pieces 9 for $9.50 Beef brisket Hui Mei. The brisket was tasty and hand pull noodles were made to perfection. The hot sauce condiment made it even better. 4/5 Big Tray chicken. This is their signature and it was good. 4/5 ”
“ Cash only, super delicious spot for comforting noodles in Chinatown. Came on a Saturday evening with my partner, and there was a decent wait to get seated (about 25-30 minutes given limited seating inside and was a tad too chilly for us to sit outside). We were able to order while waiting in line, though, so we got our food almost immediately upon sitting down. We ordered the lamb hui mian which was delicious and extremely good value (a huge bowl for $11.50?! so unheard of). It was so comforting, and the soup was flavorful without being overwhelming. I was surprised by how well the flavors stuck to the noodles. We also got the big plate chicken with noodles ($24) and seaweed salad. I've had big plate chicken often, as well as homemade, so I was less star-struck by this dish, but it is a very impressive quality and quantity for NYC. In sum total, it was a ton of food and we were both stuffed. We probably could have just shared the big plate chicken and got extra noodles and been totally satiated for the evening, but we wanted to try more things on the menu! Ambience is definitely a bit thin, and this is a hole-in-wall kind of spot. Service was great and friendly, just don't forget it's cash only. ”
“ Great hole in the wall spot. Came in around 1p on a Saturday and got seated very quickly. We were lucky as a few more parties came after and had a tad longer wait. My friend and I split two dishes. We tried the lamb hui mei and the spicy beef brisket hui mei. I thought the noodles were so fresh and perfectly chewy in both dishes. The broth of the lamb dish was so light and refreshing (almost like a hint of star anise infused into the broth) and well balanced with generous amounts of lamb. Lamb pieces were also not gamey which I was impressed by. The beef brisket sauce was much heavier with warm spices like cumin and cut with some tangy. It was good but not out of this world. Service is quick, food comes out fast, and the prices are very modest. No frills spot and worth stopping in if you are in Chinatown! ”
“ Came here just to try the soup dumplings and they were really good. We were seated at a table and given water. It was a little hot but the fans are going non-stop. The dumplings came out suuuuuper hot and fresh. They were a bit on the sweeter side but still pretty good. ”
